What, are you and "robby-778896" related? (You both are idiots.) Right after 9/11, when that airliner went down in Queens, people WERE in the streets terrified (about 100,000 of them). When flight 800 went down off the coast of Long Island, there was much less obvious (filmable) panic because the population is much less dense there. It was only after the FBI lead investigator (who was also a top investigator after the 1st WTC ANFRO truck bombing occurred during Clinton's watch) suggested that it miht have been a terrorism event that people in the tri-state area became VERY concerned.
"NEWS FLASH" for you: NYC and NYC area residents have been made QUITE aware (by both news sources and government officials) that it is now SOP for the F16's (now constantly in the air & surveilling our area) are to IMMEDIATELY engage any aircraft suspected of being a danger to the public. This notion of yours that seeing an F16 ghosting a commercial airliner should immediately alert people that everything is OK is moronic. The opposite is true.
Ditto on your idea that people should run inside buildings and hide. (We're not talking about tornadoes here.) ONLY because people (by the WTC emergency plan since the 1st WTC parking garage bombing) began to immediately evacuate when the 1st plane struck the WTC, was the loss of lives as amazingly minimal as it was. It could easily been 10x that number otherwise.
I knew 2 people that died in the WTC. I know 2 others (FDNY & a Transit cop) who now are slowly dying (and getting NO financial aid from the Federal government to assist them in obtaining the necessary medical that has bankrupted them).
In a 30 mile radius, we have 3 international commercial airports and one of the largest (mainly freight & corporate jet) international airports in the world: LaGuardia, Kennedy, Newark & Teterboro. We see 100's of flights daily at low altitude taking of an landing - but RARELY see military fighter craft in pursuit. The air space off the coasts of Long Island and NJ are also under Naval control for training maneuvers. Fort Dix in southern NJ also has a lot of transport carrier flights constantly taking off (planes so large they make a 737 look like a toy). That's excluding the air traffic also coming out of Philadelphia's International air port.
Our region is also constantly being scanned and mapped by military helicopters crisscrossing the area looking for radiation sources, chemical traces & changes in building topography that the average person would never recognize as a possible sign of a potential terrorist threat.
This is no joke to the 30 million of us that live here.
As you clearly have no clue, why don't you do us a favor and say nothing at all.
Don't make stuff up. It is just to proving your ignorance & callousness.
